am Imam, Sokoto: Tambuwal lays foundation for a new school in Gudu, the only LGA without senior secondary school in Nigeria Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal at the weekend laid the foundation for the construction of a new secondary school in Balle, headquarters of Gudu Local Government, with it closing the chapter for the town being the only LGA without a secondary school in Nigeria. Speaking at the event attended by development partners and religious and traditional rulers from within and outside Sokoto, Tambuwal said the his administration embarked on the project as the area had remained the only one out of the 23 local governments of the state without a Senior Secondary School. “The school will be a co-educational one, both for boys and girls. We have decided to make it a unity school and will attract students from all parts of Nigeria and neighbouring Niger republic. Students of the school would be taught in both English and French,” Tambuwal said. According to him, the contractor had since been paid the required thirty per cent as mobilisation fee. He said the project would be completed in the next four months, while the work commenced about two months ago. The governor also promised to make funds available for the completion of the project on schedule, and according to specifications. “Education is key to success both in this world and in the hereafter. The school is aimed at improving enrolment, retention and completion of students across the state. It is also aimed at improving equal access to education for both boys and girls in the state. “As the adage goes, when you educate a girl, you educate the society but when you educate a boy, you educate only an individual,” he added. Tambuwal called on the contracting firm to complete the work on schedule, warning that compromise by supervising engineers would not be condoned. Speaking at the occasion, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, commended the state government for embarking on the project. He stressed the need for all children to have equal opportunities to education. While describing illiteracy as a “disease” which forces people to follow others blindly, Abubakar decried street begging by some children, saying such obnoxious act was unIslamic. The Sultan urged wealthy individuals to provide scholarship to the children of less privileged. State Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Jabbi Kilgori, said the project consists of 12 classrooms, laboratories, library, hostels, staff quarters and clinics, among others.

September 25, 2016: Daizsa Bausby’s was preparing for her 19th birthday, instead she’s dead. Police claim that her father Jerry K. Bausby murdered the young honor student. The 40 year old dad was arrested and charged for her death, according to court records. Daizsa was killed back in March, where she was found smothered to death inside a Kansas City motel room. There have been all kinds of theories as to what happened to her. Now prosecutors claim that know what happened.
On Thursday, 40-year-old Jerry Bausby appeared before a Jackson County judge, who entered a not guilty plea for Bausby, who is in the process of waiting for a defense attorney. His cash bond was set at $750,000.
Bausby was charged with murder in the first degree. He was also charged with sodomy, incest and sexual assault.
Daizsa was preparing to attend Grambling State University after receiving more than a dozen offers to attend various universities.

September 25, 2016: Chris Brown and Omarion are locked in a bitter lawsuit, over who owned the sond “Post To Be”. According to Chris Brown’s reps, they own the song and Omarion stole it from them. Here is how the lawsuit is being reported elsewhere:

The company explains back in 2014, the song “Came To Do” was written by multiple songwriters and featured on Chris Brown’s album ‘X’. One of the writers, Redwine, assigned 50% of the rights to the song to BMG.
Then later in the year, Omarion released his fourth studio album under Atlantic Records which included the track “Post to Be” which they say infringes on Chris Brown’s song, which they own the rights to currently.
The company accuses Omarion’s track of being identical in pitches, intervals, rhythmic durations and beat placement. Mustard produced the track released by the singer.
BMG filed suit demanding an injunction against the label and Omarion from continuing to illegally profit off their work along with accounting for the his album sales and damages up to $150k per time they infringed on “Came To Do” and no less than $300k in actual damages.

President Buhri today said those who stole Nigeria dry are angry with his government and so have recruited the services of militants in the Niger Delta to fight his government. He said this while addressing a group of Nigerians professionals residing in the US.

"We got into trouble as a country, because we did not save for the rainy day. For example, between 1999 and 2015, when we produced an average of 2.1 million barrels of oil per day, and oil prices stood at an average of $100 per barrel, we did not save, neither did we develop infrastructure. Suddenly, when we came in 2015, oil prices fell to about 30 dollars per barrel. I asked; where are the savings? There were none.
Where are the railways? The roads? Power? None. I further asked; what did we do with billions of dollars that we made over the years? They said we bought food. Food with billions of dollars? I did not believe, and still do not believe. In most parts of Nigeria, we eat what we grow. People in the South eat tubers, those in the North eat grains, which they plant, and those constitute over 60 per cent of what we eat. So, where did the billions of dollars go? We did a lot of damage to ourselves by not developing infrastructure when we had the money. Talking of our military, they earned respect serving in places like Burma, Zaire, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, and then, suddenly, that same military could no longer secure 14 out of 774 local governments in the country. Insurgents had seized them, calling them some sort of caliphate, and planting their flags there; till we came, and scattered them. We raised the morale of our military, changed the leadership, re-equipped and retrained them; USA, Britain, and some other countries helped us, and today, the pride of our military is restored"he said

And see what I met on ground. But I can't complain, since I prayed for the job. In the military, I rose from 2nd Lieutenant to Major-General. I was military governor in 1975 over a state that is now six states. I was head of state, got detained for three years, and headed the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), which had N53 billion of that time in Nigerian banks. God has been very good to me, so I can't complain. If I feel hurt by anybody, I ask God to help me forgive. He has done so much for me. After 16 years of a different party in government, no party will come and have things easy. It's human. We need quality hands to run Nigeria, and we will utilize them. I will like to welcome you home when it's time. But I'll like you to be ready."he said

Brad Pitt is under investigation by the LAPD and L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services for allegedly getting verbally abusive and physical with his children, and that's what triggered the divorce ... TMZ has learned.
Sources familiar with the situation tell us, Brad, Angelina and their kids were on a flight last Wednesday when he allegedly got wasted on the private jet. He allegedly went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids.
We're told the plane landed at an airport around 8 PM, and witnesses say Pitt continued his rant on the tarmac, and even tried leaving in one of the fuel trucks.
Our sources say someone either on the plane or the tarmac anonymously reported the incident to the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services. We're told Brad and Angelina have already been interviewed and DCFS plans to interview the kids as well. That investigation is ongoing.
We're also told the LAPD has the case ... which is routine when anyone reports child abuse. We do not know the specifics of the alleged abuse ... just that it was supposedly both verbal and physical.
Our sources say this incident triggered Jolie to separate from Brad the next day and file for divorce just days later.
A source close to Brad tells TMZ, "He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children," adding, "It's unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light."

Sources who have been with Brad since his separation with Angelina Jolie last week tell us ... Brad has made it clear ... he will engage in legal war to stop his estranged wife from getting what she wants -- sole physical custody, giving him only visitation rights.
We're told when Brad answers Jolie's divorce petition, the stage will be set for the central conflict.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has warned the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives against torture and extra-judicial killings, saying no policeman in the world had the right or authority to kill crime suspects.

Mr. Idris admonished the SARS personnel to always respect the right of every Nigerian, noting that this was the way they could change the negative public perception about them.

Addressing SARS operatives and their commanders from various state commands at the Force Headquarters on Thursday in Abuja, the IG, in a veiled reference to the Amnesty International’s criticism of the squad, stated that the policemen had a lot to do to correct the public perception that they did not follow due process in their operations.

He said that the squad would undergo retraining and restructuring, adding that the civil society organisations would be involved in the revamping process to contribute to the training programme.

Mr. Idris stated that the squad would have an intelligence arm to assist with intelligence gathering, stressing that the SARS’ operation would be intelligence-led, henceforth.

According to the IG, the operatives would be issued new badges and placed under state Commissioners of Police, while those in Abuja and Lagos would be under the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of operations.

He warned against the use of excessive force and reckless use of firearms, which he said could cause public panic.

He said: “You should respect the constitutional right of every Nigerian; you don’t have authority to take lives, you don’t have authority to change a civil case to a criminal case, you don’t have the right to torture suspects.

“You should conduct yourself to the admiration of the people. Don’t portray yourself as a demon. SARS is not devilish; you have to change the face of SARS by handling cases justly. Don’t turn the complainant into a criminal. You have to be sincere in dealing with the public.”

pdp tells inec to declare senator deriye seat vacate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the seat of Sen. Joshua Dariye in the Senate vacant.

Dariye, on Thursday at the Senate, announced his defection from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing lingering leadership crisis in the party as reason.

In a statement by the party’s Deputy Chairman in the state, Mr Amos Gombi, on Friday in Jos, PDP urged INEC to immediately conduct fresh election for Dariye’s Plateau Central Senatorial seat.

It said that the fresh election would be in accordance with section 68, sub-section one of the 1999 Constitution as amended since Dariye had abandoned the party on whose platform he contested and won the election. ”

In 2015, Sen. Dariye contested and was elected on the platform of the PDP as senator, representing Plateau Central Senatorial Zone. ”But, by leaving the party, he cannot under this circumstance, lawfully and legally retain his seat as representative of the people in accordance with section 68 sub-section 1 of the 199 Constitution as amended. ”

We strongly condemn this act and demand that he should honourably resign and vacate his seat as senator representing Plateau Central, haven become a member of another party before the expiration his tenure. ”

So, we categorically call on INEC to immediately declare his seat vacant and conduct fresh election to replace him,” the statement demanded. The party denied any division or crisis in its ranks and called on its supporters to disregard such insinuations.

It urged the supporters and members to remain steadfast in their loyalty, saying that Dariye’s exit would do no harm to its popularity.
